Chusan Palm Wagnerianus

Small solid palm tree – frost-resistant up to -18° C

 Trachycarpus wagnerianus

 Seeds: 4

The Chusan Palm Wagnerianus is smaller and more compact than its big sister the Trachycarpus fortunei and therefore even better suited for the cultivation as a tub plant. Its firm, deep dark-green and semicircular fronds become not more than 60 cm big and create a neatly folded, decorative face. The stem is covered by the typical fiber mesh. Since the plant rarely sheds any leaves, it is evergreen, except the bottom part of the stem. The Chusan Palm Wagnerianus tolerates heat and is frost-resistant up to -18° Celsius.

 Natural location:

The origin of the Chusan Palm Wagnerianus is unknown since there are no findings of the species in its natural habitat so far. The horticulturist Albert Wagner from Leipzig, Germany first brought the plant to Europe and named it.

 Bonsai suitability: No
