As small cacti, Rebutias are very well suited for indoor cultivation and are a beautiful cactus genus for both beginners and experienced enthusiasts to display a considerable collection in a small space. The delicate, funnel-shaped flowers appear in considerable numbers even on first-year plants and emerge laterally in the lower half of the plant body. Depending on the variety, the flowers, which are red, violet, lilac-pink, or orange, open during the day for several days and close again in the evening.

Natural habitat: Rebutias originate in the highlands of Tucumán in northern Argentina at altitudes of 1500 to 4000 meters.
