The perennial and hardy comfrey reaches a height of 70 to 120 centimeters and is one of the essential plants of traditional cottage gardens. In the wild, it thrives along stream banks and adorns them with its striking purplish-red to pale violet flowers during its flowering period from May to August.

Natural habitat: Its original habitat is the temperate zones of Eurasia, extending to the Ural Mountains and Central Asia.
