The spectacular flowers, over 10 centimeters across, which the giant granadilla develops from its third year onward, are its most striking feature. Its large petals are dark red, and its corona is striped white and purple. The fast-growing shoots with their sturdy stems require a large-mesh support structure, making the plant an attractive addition to any balcony or garden during the summer.

Natural habitat: Passiflora quadrangularis likely originated in Barbados and spread from there to South and Central America.
