Not only during its flowering period does Greek oregano captivate with its intense peppery aroma. The hairs on its leaves, which shade the leaf surface and protect it from drying out, indicate that Greek oregano originates from a dry and hot climate. These hairs also give the entire plant its slightly silvery-gray sheen. Unlike other varieties, Greek oregano blooms white, not pink. It thrives in pots, window boxes, and even when planted in the ground, reaching a height of 30 to 70 centimeters. It can be harvested year-round and is winter-hardy even in northern latitudes.

Natural habitat: Greek oregano is native to Macedonia, Greece, Cyprus, and Turkey.
