A profusion of blossoms already in April

As soon as the sun brings the first warm days in April, the Japanese flowering cherry begins its abundant blossoming. In Japan, this is celebrated with numerous festivals, as the cherry tree is deeply intertwined with cultural symbolism. The cultivation of Japanese cherry trees in gardens has been a tradition in Japan for over 1500 years. However, they only arrived in Europe at the beginning of the 19th century. This deciduous tree grows broadly and in a funnel shape, reaching a height of three to six meters. In autumn, the leaves turn orange to yellow. With its relatively manageable height and broad crown, the flowering cherry is an ideal flowering tree for the home garden.

Natural habitat: The plant is native to Asia, particularly Japan.
