Magnificent blooms from spring until the first frost
The perennial blue water lily was revered as a sacred form of the god Nefertem in ancient Egypt, as it opens its radiant blue, fragrant petals, up to 20 centimeters in size, against a golden-yellow base every morning from spring until the first frost, and, like the Egyptian sun god Ra, only closes them again at sunset. As a tropical water lily species, it is well-suited for a sunny pond with medium water depth or a beautiful container for a mini-pond.
Natural habitat: This tropical floating-leaved plant is native to Egypt but widespread throughout tropical Africa.
