The spiny cow udder plant is a shrub that grows to a height of one to two meters, with large leaves and amusing, aubergine-like fruits. When it flowers, it first displays pale purple buds, which develop into dark purple blossoms and then into bright yellow fruits, up to eight centimeters in diameter, whose numerous bulges resemble a cow's udder. This whimsical plant can be easily cultivated indoors. Since the fruits remain on the stems for a long time, they are also suitable for use in vases.
Natural habitat: The cow udder plant is native to northern South America, where it grows exclusively in tropical regions.
