A tall crownshaft with elegant pinnate leaves on a slightly furrowed trunk with subtle rings at the leaf bases makes the Roystonea regia the most elegant of palms. Its inflorescences develop into large clusters of small purple fruits. It is so significant to Cuba that it is featured on the national coat of arms. It can be successfully grown in containers, where it grows quickly and evenly if given plenty of light and adequate humidity.
Natural Habitat: The natural habitat of the Cuban royal palm is the lowlands of Cuba in areas with high rainfall and tropical temperatures.
