A small coffee plant for your home

The coffee shrub initially grows as a single-stemmed plant and becomes bushy over time. When grown in a pot or container, it can reach a height of up to 1.5 meters. Its leaves, growing in opposite pairs, are dark green and glossy. After at least three years – in the case of the dwarf coffee shrub, once it reaches a height of 40 to 50 centimeters – white, vanilla-scented flowers appear. The subsequent fruits (coffee cherries) are initially green, turning red and then black. They typically contain two beans.

Natural habitat : Coffea arabica likely originated in Abyssinia in East Africa – the region of present-day Ethiopia and Eritrea.
