A wide variety of colors in the smallest space

These small succulent (water-storing) plants consist of just two thick, fused leaves that retain a great deal of moisture. At the end of summer, a flower, yellow, white, light red, or purple depending on the species, unfolds from the center of each stone. Every year, a new pair of leaves emerges from the center of the old leaf. This attractive flowering plant takes up very little space on a windowsill, making it possible to create lovely color arrangements in a small area.

Natural habitat: Living stones are native to southern Africa and primarily inhabit regions with winter rainfall and summer drought.
