In Hinduism, tulsi is considered a sacred herb. It plays a role in religious ceremonies and symbolizes divine protection. The plant can grow up to 100 cm tall. Unlike the basil we know in Europe, its leaves are serrated, somewhat darker, and thinner. Tulsi blooms between June and September. The flowers usually have violet petals, making tulsi an excellent source of nectar for bees. The plant also emits a fresh, peppery fragrance reminiscent of cloves. 

Natural habitat: Tulsi basil is widespread in tropical and subtropical Asia.
