Meadowfoam is a native wildflower. In spring, it can transform entire meadows into a sea of ​​blossoms. The plant is perennial and grows to a height of 30 to 50 centimeters when in bloom. Its flowering period extends from April to June. Its pollen- and nectar-rich flowers, which are white, light pink, or pinkish-purple, are a favorite of bees, butterflies, and other insects. After flowering, it develops narrow, upright seed pods and can catapult its seeds over two meters away. This spring bloomer is wonderful as a cut flower for spring bouquets, but should be cut while still in bud, as it fades quickly. 

Natural habitat: Its distribution ranges from Europe to the Arctic climate zone in northern Asia and North America.
