Even in ancient times, aloe vera was valued for its healing sap. Cleopatra, considered the plant of immortality and the blood of the gods, is said to have cared for her skin with aloe vera gel. As a member of the grass family, aloe vera does not form a trunk, but rather rosettes of leaves. With its thick, fleshy leaves and a size of up to 60 cm, it resembles agaves or cacti. In January, aloe vera produces a long flower stalk between its leaves, at the ends of which sit yellow, red, or orange tubular flowers. 

Natural habitat: Aloe vera originally comes from the Middle East.
