To the Celts, sweet clover was considered a sacred, magical plant and a symbol of vitality. Even the Hippocratic physicians praised its healing properties. Today, it is one of the most important medicinal plants in the treatment of venous diseases.
Sweet clover can reach a height of up to 150 cm and blooms from June to September in many-flowered clusters. The positive qualities of sweet clover as a bee forage plant are undisputed. This is evidenced not only by its Latin name *Melilotus*, which means "honey clover," but also by historical variety names such as "Bienenfleiß" (bee-busy).

Natural habitat: Sweet clover's original home is Central Europe and Asia.
