The Thai Devil's Flower, with its "Batman"-like bracts containing the actual flowers, and its whisker-like stamens that can reach up to 50 centimeters in length, is truly a bizarre plant. Reaching a height of up to 120 centimeters and boasting elegant, dark green leaves, it can also be successfully cultivated as a container plant in our climate. In Thai ethnomedicine, the plant is used to treat blood pressure problems, and the ground powder of the plant's rhizome is believed to have strong aphrodisiac properties.
Natural Habitat: The Devil's Flower is native to the subtropics and tropics of Southeast Asia. There, it grows in forests, valleys, and along riverbanks at altitudes of 200 to 1300 meters.
