A magnificent little tree, prized for its attractive, butterfly-wing-like leaves and numerous fragrant blossoms, making it a beautiful addition to any container. In late spring, the orchid tree is covered in five-petaled white flowers, which can reach up to 12 centimeters in diameter. Since the flowers appear at the same time as, or shortly before, the new growth, the entire tree is initially dominated by blossoms before the foliage begins to emerge. Pruning is well tolerated, making the Bauhinia a good choice for container planting.
