The Kiss of Satan in Italian - Heat level 5 / 15000 Scoville
An old variety, also called Baccio de Satana, that produces small, round, and hot chilies that ripen from green to red, resembling cherry tomatoes.
Natural habitat: Tropical Central America.
In the kitchen: Varieties up to a Scoville rating of 5 are suitable sliced in salads and stuffed with ground meat or cheese, then baked. Hotter varieties can be added in small quantities to stews, stir-fries, goulash, and bean dishes. Removing the seeds and inner membrane reduces the spiciness. Always wear gloves when preparing chilies.
