The 'nana' variety is more delicate than its larger relative, the pomegranate. However, this dwarf form ('nana') blooms more profusely, delighting the eye for many weeks in summer with its orange-red bell-shaped flowers and the subsequent numerous small fruits that cling to the slender branches well into autumn.

Natural habitat: The pomegranate's original home is in West to Central Asia; however, it has been widespread throughout the Mediterranean region and the Middle East for thousands of years.
