Fenugreek sproutsEnjoy the spicy, curry-like taste of your homegrown fenugreek sprouts in oriental noodle and rice dishes, in soups and sauces, and also in salads. Interesting facts: Fenugreek originally comes from Persia. Mature fenugreek plants bear beak-shaped pods that resemble a goat's horn. The flowers, however, look like our common clover. Fenugreek sprouts have a refreshingly spicy flavor. The aromatic sprouts add a unique touch to salads, soups, stews, or sandwiches. Fenugreek sprouts are especially good with Asian dishes such as curries and chutneys. Your fenugreek sprouts will germinate best in a bright location within two days at 18 to 22 degrees Celsius (64 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit). If the sprouts germinate for longer, they will become slightly bitter. The best way to grow sprouts is in the SAFLAX sprouting jar, which is available separately or as a starter set with three organic sprout varieties. |
