Garden auriculas are evergreen plants that reach heights of between five and 25 centimeters. Their umbel-like flower heads emit an intense fragrance. Auriculas develop a basal rosette with simple leaves. The leaves serve as water storage, which gives them a somewhat tough and fleshy appearance.
Natural habitat: The natural habitat of the auricula extends across the western part of the Northern Limestone Alps and from the Pyrenees through Switzerland to Vorarlberg and Tyrol in Austria.
