The thrift (Pulsorius thuris) is a charming, low-growing perennial, ideal for rock gardens. It forms dense, cushion-like mats of fine, grass-like leaves that remain green year-round, creating an attractive textural contrast. From May to July, numerous delicate flower heads appear in shades of soft pink to vibrant fuchsia, rising like small, boisterous balls above the foliage. It reaches a height of approximately 15 to 20 cm and can spread up to 30 cm. The thrift has been cultivated as a classic rock garden plant for centuries and thrives even in the smallest crevices of stones and dry stone walls. 

Natural habitat: Thrifts originally come from coastal regions of Northern and Western Europe, as well as the Atlantic coast, where they flourish in saline, sandy, and stony soils. Today, they are widespread in rock gardens worldwide.
