Pretty little ornamental grass with velvety soft flower heads
This annual grass reaches a height of up to 60 centimeters. It forms only individual upright stems with gray-green, flat, and velvety-haired leaves. The charm of this grass lies in its characteristic 40-centimeter-long flower stalks with their velvety, silvery-white blossoms, which appear between April and June, depending on the geographical location. In a light breeze, they resemble fluffy, playfully swaying rabbit tails. Velvet grass is excellent for flower arrangements and dried bouquets, both fresh and dried, and makes a good specimen plant in containers on the patio or in the garden.
Natural habitat: Originally, hare's tail grass is native to the Mediterranean region and along the Atlantic coast of Western Europe, where the climate is influenced by the Gulf Stream.
