Compact globe grass with a striking blue coloration
The evergreen blue fescue, a member of the grass family, is a blue, clump-forming, compact, semi-spherical ornamental grass that grows to a height of 30 centimeters and produces attractive brown flower panicles in June and July. It is particularly well-suited for perennial plantings, where its vibrant blue beautifully contrasts with the flower colors of other plants, or for rock gardens, and is best planted in small groups. It does not spread by runners and is therefore also well-suited as a border plant for beds or pathways. It also makes a striking specimen plant in containers due to its compact growth and vibrant color.
Natural habitat: Blue fescue originates in southwestern Europe and northern Italy, where it grows in mountainous regions.
