Bright red shoot tips - a play of color that lasts into winter
From summer well into winter, the striking, bright red foliage makes this ornamental grass unique. Depending on location and soil conditions, it reaches a height of 30 to 40 centimeters. Its upright stems are covered with dense leaves that are green on the underside and become increasingly bright red on the upper side as the year progresses. This heat-loving grass is well-suited for container planting and can also be planted outdoors with appropriate winter protection.
Natural Habitat: Blood grass is native to Japan, China, and Korea, where it is known as alang-alang grass. In Japan, it is frequently planted under larger bonsai trees because of its contrasting leaf color.
